These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TutoPals.com and its apps and services ("TutoPals", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you are a parent or guardian registering a child, you accept these Terms on the child's behalf.
1. Who may use TutoPals
TutoPals provides online tutoring for children. Children use the service under the supervision and with the consent of a parent, guardian or participating tuition centre. Tutors, parents and centre administrators must be adults able to enter a binding agreement. You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and your login secure.
2. Your account
You may sign in using Google or the methods we provide. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your password confidential. Tell us promptly at info@tutopals.com if you suspect any unauthorised use.
3. Classes, points and wallet
TutoPals lets students book and join live classes, complete homework and quizzes, and earn reward points. Reward points have no cash value outside the platform, are not transferable, and may be redeemed only for rewards we make available. Wallet balances and top-ups are used to pay for classes and services on the platform. We may adjust point values, reward availability and pricing, and will aim to give reasonable notice of material changes.
4. Payments, refunds and tutor payouts
Fees for classes are shown before you book. Payments are processed through our payment providers. Refunds are handled according to the cancellation terms shown at booking. Tutors are paid out according to the payout terms agreed with TutoPals. Taxes apply where required by Malaysian law.
5. Acceptable use
When using TutoPals you agree not to: misuse or disrupt the platform; upload harmful, unlawful or infringing content; harass or endanger any child or user; attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; or use the service for anything other than its intended educational purpose. We care deeply about child safety and will act on any conduct that puts a child at risk.
6. Content and intellectual property
The TutoPals name, logo, mascot, lesson content, quests and platform are owned by TutoPals or its licensors and are protected by law. You may use them only as part of using the service. Content you submit (such as homework or profile information) remains yours, but you grant us a licence to host and use it as needed to run the service.
7. Google Calendar integration
If you connect Google Calendar, you authorise TutoPals to create and update class-related events on your calendar. This feature is optional and can be disconnected at any time. Our use of Google data is described in our Privacy Policy and follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
8. Third-party services
TutoPals relies on third-party services (for example our application platform, and video, payment and communication providers) to deliver classes and features. Your use of those features may also be subject to the third party's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
9. Service availability
We work to keep TutoPals available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, suspend or modify features to improve the platform or for maintenance, and will aim to minimise disruption.
10. Disclaimers and liability
TutoPals is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Malaysian law. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using TutoPals and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are breached, if required by law, or to protect users — particularly to safeguard children. On termination, some records may be retained as required by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and continued use of TutoPals after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
